This is a rant about my dad.
So you can scroll right past it, I just need to write it down.
So, he does this thing in which he doesn’t say a word to you all day everyday but when you ask him for a ride to go to the pharmacy, once you’re locked inside the car with him he spends the entire ride talking about really important things to you. He always does that and you can tell that he’s been thinking his words for a long time and you don’t even have time to react, so he talks all the time and you just sit there trying to assimilate everything. HE DOES IT ALL THE TIME.
So today he told me that he’s not okay. He hasn’t been sleeping more than 3 hours a night because his father is sick and he’s the only one taking care of him, the hospital, the paperwork, the clothes, the food, the medicine… Everything. His siblings never helped him. Also because of work and everything’s been worst lately because my mom went on holiday for two weeks and ‘she can’t support him like he needs her to’. Bullshit. I mean… I know that he misses her and that he’s scared that she’s not there for him to wash his clothes, clean the house and stay with us and support him 24 hours a day, everyday like she did since they got together but she planned this months ago. He knew that she wouldn’t be here for 15 days. He doesn’t know how to function without her and he got angry at her because he doesn’t know how to handle this. I’m not saying that he shouldn’t feel bad, he’s got a lot of weight on his shoulders but he shouldn’t blame her. He says he doesn’t but I know that as soon as he talks to her she’ll feel guilty. Guilty for doing something for herself. For taking 15 days in 20 years just for her. For taking this unique opportunity and actually enjoying it. I hope she can see over all that he’s feeling and she doesn’t regret it. It’s inevitable, though. He’ll need to externalize this and she’ll feel bad. But I hope that she remembers this trip as a happy memory, not as the reason of the problem.
